The IDUG Contest

In every contest, there’s a winner, in every winner there’s a prize. What if the prizes include iPod Nanos, Nintendo Wii and many more attractive gadgets, are you interested to join? Everyone can participate in these contests most especially the students, faculty members and professional developers.

Before you can join in any of the IDUG contest, you have to sign in first and complete the Quick Quiz. After that, you can choose which contest you would like to participate. There are five tracks to choose from these contests: the Video Mania, the Gadget contest, the Query Challenge, and the Programming Contest (Port an application and Develop an Application).

IBM is the sponsor of these contests and at the same time is getting a chance to market their programming applications. The most intriguing contest allows the contestant to come up with their own application using IBM’s newest breakthrough technology. One explains to judges how to install, run, and evaluate his or her application as well as show how this application takes advantage of the new technologies. Quite a challenge for a programmer interested in seeing how creative they can be with new technologies.
